A bespoke recessed mailbox installation designed to combine advanced fire-rated protection with a contemporary architectural finish for modern student accommodation.
Project Overview
At Canvas Capital House, Southampton, Letterbox4you supplied and manufactured 160 recessed Defensor FR180 Fire Rated Letterboxes for the main lobby area, delivering a bespoke solution for a modern student accommodation development.
With fire safety becoming increasingly important within residential buildings, the project required a system capable of combining certified fire protection with a refined architectural appearance. The Defensor FR180 system was selected for its advanced fire performance, having been rigorously tested to withstand temperatures exceeding 1000°C for more than 180 minutes.
Designed as a recessed installation, the mailbox banks were integrated seamlessly within the lobby environment to create a clean and contemporary finish. Custom trims were manufactured to align perfectly with the face of the letterboxes, while integrated support legs were supplied to improve long-term structural stability.
Finished in RAL 6003 Olive Green Matt with black UV-printed numbering, the installation creates a striking feature within the otherwise neutral interior palette, demonstrating how fire-rated solutions can combine safety, durability, and modern design without compromise.
